Vera Mae Jeansonne Bordelon was born on November 19, 1927 in Hessmer, Louisiana, to Norma Jeansonne, Sr. and Lena Jeansonne and passed away at the age of 93 on June 22, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family and very close friend, in Alexandria, Louisiana.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor for many years and attended with her husband until his passing. Then, she began attending St. Frances Cabrini Church with her son, Larry and his wife, Wanda. She always prayed her rosary, and would always have a rosary in her hands when someone would visit, she was a devout catholic. Vera’s heart was filled with so much love for her husband, Edd, whom she cared for many years while he was ill and for her “Little Family” as she often call them. Her son, Larry and wife Wanda, and grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were truly the apple of her eye.

During her working career, she was a talented seamstress. She loved flowers, shopping, cooking for her family, and traveling, but her family will hold fond memories of Vera baking and decorating the family birthday cakes, making her famous carrot soufflé, and gumbos.

She is survived by her son, Larry Paul Bordelon and wife, Wanda, of Alexandria; grandchildren, Clint Paul Bordelon, Sr. of Alexandria, Natalie Marie Bordelon Hall and husband, Jay of Bentonville, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Clint Paul Bordelon, Jr. (C.J.), Bryce Joseph Bordelon, Gillian Gabrielle Bordelon of Alexandria, and Thatcher Sims Hall of Bentonville, Arkansas and a host of nieces and nephews and other dear family friends.

Preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Edd Joseph Bordelon; parents, Norma Jeansonne, Sr. and Lena Jeansonne; brothers, Norma Jeansonne, Jr. and wife, Inez, and Floyd Jeansonne and wife, Nelda.

The Bordelon family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice for their loving care during this time, especially Brenda Price and Allison Young and a very special and dear friend, Linda Kinder, who could always bring a smile to her face.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
