Vera Dean Stafford, 88, Brouillette

A Memorial Mass will be held for Vera Dean Stafford at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Brouillette with Rev. Abraham Palakkattuchira officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Genevieve Cemetery
Visitation will be held in the church hall on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
Vera Dean Stafford, 88, of the Brouillette Community, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 30, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Leo and Alice Rose Laprairie; one sister, Patricia Ann Cotie; and her son-in-law, Scott Sorvaag.
Dean never met a stranger and to know her was to love her. She lived daily for her family. Dean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved gardening and together with her husband Carter, they had their Day Lilly Garden for over 25 years. She was also the founder and namesake of Dean’s Rainbow Garden. Dean was well loved and cherished by her community and all who knew her, she will be dearly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 65 ½ years, Carter Stafford; their daughters, Beth Laborde (Nathan), Dee Dee Sorvaag, and Jami Stafford; their six grandchildren, Steven Laborde, Scott Laborde, Stormy Semmen, Hailey Gaspard, Leigh Ann Gaspard and Kamryn Gaspard; and 8 great grandchildren with one on the way.
