Bobby Ray Dauzat
Bobby was born on February 2, 1948, in Marksville, LA to Gaston Joseph and Lessie Broussard Dauzat. He passed from this life on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in his residence in Marksville, at the age of 77.
Bobby graduated from Marksville High School. He was a longtime drag line operator for Pine Bluff Sand and Gravel Company. He was instrumental in building lock and dams and placing revetments all across LA, MS, AR areas. He loved and cherished his time on the water, whether he was working with coworkers or fishing with friends.
Bobby never met a stranger. He would talk to someone while pumping gas, or people walking by in a store on a daily basis. His favorite band was the Beatles. He loved singing along on any given day and shared his love of music with his children. Bobby was an avid lover of old cowboy movies, he watched them daily and some over and over again. He could quote John Wayne in any situation. He enjoyed the outdoors and sharing time with family on the porch.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Earl Dauzat and George Dauzat.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Barbara Dauzat; his son, Brian Dauzat (Julia); two daughters, Brandi Alyse Dauzat and Brittany St. Romain (Kris); one brother, Kenneth Dauzat; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Kramer of Fifth Ward Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. led by Rev. Albi Mulloth, JCL. In honoring Bobby’s wishes he will be cremated and brought home to his family.
