LTC (ARNG Ret) Donald J. Bringol
Services for LTC (Ret) Donald John Bringol will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday,
September 12, 2026, in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, with Father
Paul Kunnumpuram officiating.
Visitation will be from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in
the chapel of Kramer Funeral Home in Fifth Ward.
LTC Bringol was born of the union of Nasom J. Bringol and Ethel M Dauzat Bringol,
on August 25, 1937, in Marksville, LA. He entered eternal rest on September 5,
2026, in Marksville.
LTC Bringol is preceded in death by his parents, Nasom and Ethel Bringol of Fifth
Ward, and brother-in-law, Dr. Sidney G. Rud of Alexandria, LA.; and step
granddaughter Alexis Avery Roy of Belledeau, Avoyelles Parish, LA
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Diane M Bonnette Bringol;
daughter, Donna L Estrada (Leo), of Fifth Ward; two sons; Randall J Bringol of
Bangkok, Thailand and Scott A Bringol (Monique) of Covington, LA. One sister,
Wava Rud of Alexandria, LA; one brother, Larry Bringol (Martha) of Fifth Ward.
One stepdaughter, Lydia Anne Lambert Poret of Fifth Ward; a stepson, Lonnie
Lambert (Julie) of Cypress, TX; grandchildren, Ashley Lynch Stephens of Antlers,
OK; Amanda Rose and William John Bringol of Covington, LA. Step grandchildren
Jonah and Joshua Cambell of Cypress, TX., Dylan Butler and Jordan Berlin of
Alexandria, LA., one great grandson, Cody Lomont, Jr., of Covington, La.
and one step-great granddaughter, Kinzleigh Saucier, of Hessmer, and one step
great grandson, Jude Berlin. Five nieces and one nephew.
He was a graduate of Fifth Ward High School in Avoyelles Parish, LA., and held a
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Degree from Cumberland University,
Lebanon, TN., In addition, he was a graduate of LANG Officer Candidate School,

and the following United States Army Service Schools, Basic Airborne Course,
Special Forces Officer Course, Infantry Officer Basic Course, Infantry Officer
Advance Course, Advanced Airborne Course, Ranger Course, Pathfinder Course,
Parachute MC-1-1 Course, The Army Maintenance Management System,
Command and General Staff Officer Course (Nonresident), numerous seminars,
conferences and training sessions.
He served in many command and staff positions to include Commander of a
Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha (ODA) Team, Operations Officer of
a Special Forces (B) Team; Battalion Intelligence Officer, Operations Officer,
Executive Officer and Battalion Commander; Executive Officer of an Area Support
Group; and served on the Adjutant General’s Staff, State of Louisiana.
Awards and decorations include Parachutist badge, Senior and Master Parachutist
Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Arm Forces Reserve Medal with 2 Bronze
Hourglass Devices, Ranger Tab, Pathfinder Badge, Army Reserve Components
Achievement Medal with 3 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation
Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Special Forces Tab, Army Reserve Component
Overseas Training Ribbon, with 3 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement
Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster. LA Longevity Ribbon
with 1 Silver Fleur-de-Lis, LA General Excellence Medal; LA Commendation Medal,
LA Emergency Service Ribbon with 1Silver and 1 Bronze Fleur-De-Lis.
Upon his retirement from the Louisiana National Guard in 1990, he went to work
for Elder Wood Preserving Company for a few years, as the Human Resource/
Safety and Environmental Manager. After leaving Elder Wood he established
Bringol Residential Construction Company, LLC. Buying real estate, building
homes, and selling them.
In the year 2000, he and Diane built their dream home on a 25-acre spread along
LA Highway 1, in Fifth Ward, Avoyelles Parish, LA. The motto was “Until death do
us part” for both the marriage and the home.

In addition, he served as president of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church’s
Pastoral Council for four years and was appointed and serving six-year term as a
trustee for the church’s Finance Council.
He finally hung up his tool pouch in 2004 and began enjoying retirement with
Diane and their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Hunting,
fishing, gardening, and RV traveling, to include 43 of the lower 48 states, Alaska,
Mexico and Canada. Eight European Countries and three Asian with a couple of
special visits to Bangkok, Thailand; and Ho Chi Minh (Saigon), Vietnam to visit his
son, Randy, and then on to India to see the Taj Mahal.
Pallbearers will be William Bringol, Lonnie Lambert, Trent Dauzat, John Rud,
Sherwood Poret, and Jason Dupuy. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ashley Stephens
and Amanda Bringol.
The family wishes to thank everyone who sent food, flowers, cards of
condolences, and prayers.
