She is preceded in death by her father, Nolan Scallan; and her sister, Susan Scallan Mizell. Above all else, she was the heart and leader of her family. A woman of strength, wisdom, and unwavering love, she was the one everyone called when they needed guidance, comfort, or a helping hand. She devoted her life to caring for those around her and always put her family first. She was a provider, a teacher, and a guiding light whose love and strength helped shape generations. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she would often remind others that they were not spoiled — they were simply loved. She was always there when someone needed advice, a ride home from school, a warm meal, or simply the comfort of knowing someone cared.
Her faith in the Lord was the foundation of her life and the strength she carried through every season. She loved serving God and sharing His word with others. One of her greatest joys was teaching children’s church and helping young hearts learn about the love of Jesus. She also cherished spending time with her Bible study group and church groups, growing in faith and fellowship with those who shared her love for the Lord.
In her quiet moments, she found peace in the simple things she loved most. She enjoyed sitting on the back porch reading her Bible, often with her bunny close beside her. She loved taking early morning walks while listening to her favorite Christian music, finding comfort in the presence of God as the day began. She also looked forward to traveling to Branson, Missouri with her Bible Belle women, a place she loved visiting twice a year where she enjoyed fellowship, faith, and making treasured memories.
She lived her life with kindness, generosity, and a heart that always put others before herself. The love she poured into her family and community will never be forgotten. Her faith, wisdom, and the lessons she shared will continue to guide those who were blessed to know her.
Though our hearts are broken, we find peace knowing she has gone home to be with the Lord she loved and served so faithfully. Her work here on earth is complete, but the love she planted in every life she touched will continue to grow for generations.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Ronald Joseph Roy; her daughter, Casey (Paul) Dupuis; her sons, Tyler (Sierra) Roy, Brad (Rachelle) Roy, and Blake (Glory) Roy; her grandchildren, Bailey (Alex) Descant, Kenley Dupuis, Emerald Roy, Bradly (Hailey) Roy, Bryan Roy, Bethany Roy, Annelise Roy, Adeline Roy, Beau Roy, Blaine Roy, and Aubrielle Roy; her great grandchildren, Mason Descant, Jace Descant, and Elliana Roy; her mother, Rita St. Romain Desselle; her brothers, James Scallan and Adam Scallan; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers honored to serve will be Paul Dupuis, Alex Descant, Tyler Roy, Brad Roy, Bradly Roy, Blake Roy, and Beau Roy.
The family request that memorials in Rose’s name be sent to Fifth Ward Baptist Church Children’s Youth Group, 181 Jv Coco Rd, Marksville, LA 71351 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
“Well done, good and faithful servant — her journey here is complete, and Heaven has welcomed her home.”
