Burial will follow at the Holy Ghost Catholic Cemetery.
Sable Josepha Gordon, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Hospice of Acadiana in Lafayette, LA.Ms. Sable loved nothing more than being at home in Marksville, the place she cherished the most. She was an avid reader and a great cook. She found immense joy in cooking. She poured love into every dish she prepared for her family, and nothing delighted her more than seeing them sit down to eat her meals. Sable was fiercely independent, a hard worker, and never one to bite her tongue. She spoke her mind with honesty and strength. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, giving her love generously and without condition. Simple joys meant the most to her, especially her favorite flowers, yellow and purple pansies, which reflected both her vibrant spirit and enduring strength.Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Andre (Vanessa) Gordon of New Orleans, LA; daughters, Deborah (Troy) Brown of Lafayette, LA and Jacquelyn (Willie) Grant of Keller, TX.; grandchildren: Alyza Gordon Rivers (Ryan) of Houston, TX., Alex Gordon (Natasha) of Houston, TX., Ayron Gordon of Houston, TX., Andrew Gordon of Atlanta, GA., Ayrielle Gordon of New Orleans, LA, Danyelle Kennedy (Greg) of New Orleans, LA, Kamal Brown of Lafayette, LA, Omari Brown of Lafayette, LA, Ja’lyn Grant of Keller, TX., Camryn Grant of Buckhead, GA. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren: along with a host of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter Keller, Sr. and Eva Guillot; siblings, Raymond Keller, Sr., Peter Keller, Jr., Ruth Keller Nash, and Velma Keller Harris; nephew, Raymond Keller, Jr.Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Alex Gordon, Ayron Gordon, Kamal Brown, Omari Brown, Myles Nash and Joshua Nash.The visitation will begin at 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Marksville. A rosary prayer service will be recited at 7:00pm in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume at 8:00am until 10:30am on Saturday, January 31, 2026.Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
