Obituary for Van Keith Neck

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026, in St. Mary Mother of the Church for Van Keith Neck, 74, who passed away on August 30, 2026.
Reverend Cedric Sonnier, Pastor, was Celebrant of the Mass and conducted the funeral services. Burial took place in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Van was an avid Ragin’ Cajuns sports fan, referee and volunteer for LA Open. He was an active member of his church choir and a member of Chorale Acadienne.
Van, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Volice Neck and the former Nettie Bordelon.
He is survived by his wife, Cyd Marine Neck; two sons, Brooke Neck and Kyle Neck (Natalie); grandchildren, Jean Paul Neck, Alexander Neck, Gavin Thibodeaux, Abigail Meriwether, Addison Meriwether and Paisley Neck; and brother, Bruce Neck.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Aggie Neck; sister-in-law, Janine Neck; and former wife, Lynda Neck.
Visiting hours were observed at St. Mary Mother of the Church on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026, from 8 to 10 a.m. A Rosary was prayed at 9 a.m.
The family thanked the staff of Camelot of Broussard for their compassionate care.

Van Keith Neck and his family were cared for, and final arrangements were entrusted to Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette.
