Obituary Peter Ray DeCuir, Jr.
Peter Ray DeCuir, Jr., age 35, passed away on Feb. 26, 2026. Peter was born on Feb. 13, 1991 in Raleigh, North Carolina to Suzy and Peter DeCuir.
Peter was a graduate of Marksville High School and graduated from Centenary College in Shreveport with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Audio Engineering (specifically for stage). Pete had recently become a Certified Paralegal through the program at LSUA.
Pete worked as a Sound Engineer at El Dorado Casino for many years. Later, he moved to Dallas to do freelance work for various bands and events.
An avid reader, Pete always had a book by his side. Equal to his love of reading, Pete loved gaming. Beyond music, Pete enjoyed to travel and to learn new cultures, he loved good food and to cook and was an animal lover. Pete was quick-witted with kind eyes, a gentle nature and a good heart. Loved ones will miss the way he really listened, spoke thoughtfully and remembered life's details.
Pete was preceded in death by grandparents, Betty and Charlie Edens and grandparents Eva and Spencer DeCuir. He was also preceded in death by many beloved aunts and uncles.
Pete is survived by his parents, Suzy and Peter; his brother, Michael; sister-in-law, Hailey; nephew, Tate and niece, Peyton. Pete is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
A private memorial service will be scheduled on a later date to honor Pete.
