The City of Bunkie continues its community improvement efforts through “Operation Blight Fight,” a citywide initiative aimed at addressing neglected and overgrown properties.

Overgrown and abandoned lots remain an ongoing concern across the city. Bunkie officials encourage property owners to take proactive steps in maintaining their properties and to work with City Hall when assistance or guidance is needed.

City crews recently cleared an adjudicated lot on the 100 block of South Elm Street, transforming an area that had become severely overgrown and unsafe for surrounding residents.
