🌟 Over $4M Awarded to Louisiana Fire Departments for Safety 🌟
U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. announced that fire departments and emergency responders across Louisiana will receive $4,887,809 through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant program funding he helped secure to strengthen emergency services across the state. The grants will support departments in purchasing equipment upgrading protective gear improving training and acquiring emergency vehicles.
“Firefighters run toward not away from danger” said Dr. Cassidy. “We owe them the gear training and equipment needed to keep themselves and our communities safe.”
The awards include:
- $793,931 for Caddo Parish Fire District number 4 for operations and safety
- $742,857 for the North Sabine Fire Protection District for operations and safety
- $714,285 for the Coulee Croche Fire District number 4 for vehicle acquisition
- $434,782 for the State Fire Marshal for operations and safety
- $390,000 for Livingston Fire Protection District 2 for operations and safety
- $318,181 for the Holiday Village Fire Department
- $246,857 for Pointe Coupee Fire District number 2
- $247,619 for Caddo Parish Fire District number five
- $230,038 for the Town of Haughton
- $204,857 for Caddo Fire District number 1
Rapides Parish Fire District 12 has been awarded $175,238, Vidrine Community Volunteer Fire Department Incorporated will receive $87,619, Bossier Parish Fire District number 7 will receive $74,838, and the Choctaw Volunteer Fire Department Incorporated will receive $73,333.
Rapides Parish Police Jury will receive $57,142, and NE Bossier Parish Fire District 5 will receive $53,604, all for operations and safety.
Simmesport Volunteer Fire Department will receive $28,343 for operations and safety, and the City of Minden has been awarded $14,285 for operations and safety.
