Patrick C. Redmon Sworn In as New Bunkie City–Ward 10 Judge

Patrick C. Redmon was officially sworn in Monday, March 2, as judge for the City of Bunkie–Ward 10 Court after being elected unopposed in the upcoming May 16, primary election.

The oath of office was administered by ad hoc Judge Tiffany Sanders.

Following the ceremony, Judge Redmon assumed the bench and held court.

A Bunkie native, Redmon has practiced law in Louisiana since 2008 and brings more than 15 years of legal experience to the position. Over the course of his career, he has represented clients across South and Central Louisiana in both criminal and civil matters.

Judge Redmon succeeds Derrick “Digger” Earles, who resigned late last year after being appointed by Governor Jeff Landry to serve the Louisiana Stadium and Exhibition District.

With his swearing-in, Redmon becomes only the fourth individual to serve as Bunkie City–Ward 10 judge since the court was established in 1956. He follows Judges James Lee, James Mixon and Earles.

Addressing those gathered for the ceremony, Redmon expressed appreciation for the support he has received.

“I’m grateful for the trust placed in me and for the support of my family and this community,” Redmon said. “I intend to serve this court with fairness, integrity and respect for every person who appears here. It is an honor to continue Bunkie’s strong judicial tradition, and I will work every day to earn that trust.”
