Record-Breaking Cabbage Harvest by Lafargue Fourth Graders 🥬
Students in Mrs. Hataway’s fourth-grade class at Lafargue Elementary School harvested part of their fall garden crop on Dec. 19, taking time before Christmas break to clean up and celebrate a successful growing season.
The students were eager to see if they could surpass last year’s cabbage harvest, and this year’s crop did not disappoint.
The largest cabbage tipped the scales at an impressive 27 pounds, beating last year’s record by weight.
The remaining vegetables will be harvested when students return after the Christmas holidays.
The fourth-grade AITC (Ag in the Classroom) students shared holiday wishes with the community and expressed pride in a crop they described as a true beauty.
