🚨 Registered Offender Arrested in Avoyelles for Child Pornography!
In January 2026, a joint investigation by the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force led to the arrest of a registered sex offender on child pornography charges.
The investigation focused on the possession, distribution, downloading and viewing of child pornography and identified Glenn Batiste Jr., 25, of Mansura, as the suspect.
Authorities stated that Batiste Jr. is a convicted sex offender currently registered in Avoyelles Parish and was on probation with Louisiana Probation and Parole for prior charges and convictions stemming from an August 2021 arrest, during which he was charged with 20 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles.
On Feb. 4, the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office executed search warrants related to the ongoing investigation, which resulted in the arrest of Batiste Jr.
Batiste Jr. has been charged with Louisiana Revised Statute 14:81.1 – Pornography Involving Juveniles (10 counts). He was booked into the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office DC-1 Jail Facility, where his bond was set at $250,000.
Authorities stated he remains incarcerated at this time. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
David L. Dauzat, Sheriff of Avoyelles Parish, stated he is proud of the collaborative efforts between his office, the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office, Louisiana Probation and Parole, and other law enforcement agencies in working to keep children and communities safe.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
