RLCC staff lend a hand in “Love the Boot” Cleanup

Raymond Laborde Correctional Center in Cottonport staff recently took part in Louisiana’s 2026 “Love the Boot” campaign by helping clean the bayou banks in Cottonport.

Led by Warden D. Brent Thompson, employees worked together to remove litter and debris from the area, collecting more than 50 bags of trash along with several larger discarded items.

The effort is part of the statewide “Love the Boot” initiative, which encourages communities to take pride in keeping Louisiana clean and beautiful.

RLCC officials said the cleanup reflects a commitment not only to the environment, but also to supporting the local community through service and teamwork.
