School Board Thanks Voters After Renewals Pass!

Avoyelles Parish voters approved all three Avoyelles Parish School Board tax renewal propositions in the June 27 election, continuing dedicated funding that supports the district's operations, maintenance, school safety and educational programs.

The approved measures renew existing revenue sources that help fund:

• Employee salaries and benefits
• Instructional resources
• School safety and security initiatives
• Facility maintenance
• Capital improvements
• Repairs
• Other daily operational needs across Avoyelles Parish schools.

Superintendent Karen Tutor expressed appreciation to the community following the election.

"On behalf of the Avoyelles Parish School Board, I want to sincerely thank the citizens of Avoyelles Parish for their support and confidence in our schools," Tutor said. "These renewals allow us to continue providing safe learning environments, quality educational opportunities, and the resources our students and employees need to be successful. We are grateful for the trust our community has placed in us, and we remain committed to being responsible stewards of these public funds."

School Board President Aimee Dupuy also thanked the community for its support and acknowledged the significance of the election in light of the challenges many residents have recently faced.

"I want to sincerely thank the people of Avoyelles Parish for supporting these tax renewals," Dupuy said. "Many families are still facing the challenges of historic flooding, making the voter turnout even more meaningful. Whether or not you have children in our public schools, your investment reflects a commitment to the future of our entire parish. We are humbled by your confidence and will continue working every day to honor that trust."

The Avoyelles Parish School Board also extends its appreciation to the many citizens who took the time to participate in the election, as well as the election commissioners, poll workers, volunteers, and everyone who helped ensure a successful Election Day.

With the passage of the three renewals, Avoyelles Parish Schools will continue to receive critical local funding needed to support students, employees, and school facilities throughout the parish.

School officials expressed their gratitude for the continued partnership between the district and the community, noting that the investment made by local voters will help ensure students continue to have access to quality educational opportunities for years to come.
