‼️Shooting in Baton Rouge TODAY

BATON ROUGE, La. — At least 10 people were injured Thursday afternoon following a shooting at the Mall of Louisiana, according to Baton Rouge Police.

Authorities say the incident happened around 1:22 p.m. inside the mall’s food court. Police Chief TJ Morse stated the shooting was not random, but stemmed from an argument between two groups that escalated into gunfire.

Some bystanders were also caught in the crossfire.

Emergency officials confirmed that several victims were transported to local hospitals, while others arrived by private vehicles. At least two people are reported to be in critical condition, and some victims are undergoing surgery.

Police say the suspect or suspects remain at large, though officials emphasized there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.

State leaders, including Governor Jeff Landry, said they are monitoring the situation and urged the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues.

“I am aware of the active shooter scene at the Mall of Louisiana. I am in coordination with law enforcement and we will update as we know more. Please avoid the area. Sharon and I are praying for those affected and are grateful for a quick response by our law enforcement officials.” - Jeff Landry
