St. Joseph Lady Eagles Claim District Title in Dramatic Turnaround!
The St. Joseph Lady Eagles completed a stunning season turnaround by defeating the Plainview Lady Hornets 12-4 to secure the District Championship.
Strong pitching and timely hitting powered the victory, marking a complete reversal from the team's challenging start to the year.
“This is a team that struggled early, and no one gave them a chance,” the coaching staff said. “But through hard work and dedication, they have put themselves in a position to make a run. We could not be prouder.”
The title win catapulted the Lady Eagles to the #8 seed in the LHSAA Class C playoffs, which earned them a first-round bye.
The team's post-season journey continued with a Regional Round home game in Plaucheville on Wednesday, April 22, where they faced the winner of the Saline and Reeves matchup.
EDITOR’S NOTE: As of press time, the Lady Eagles were preparing for their high-stakes Regional contest. Final scores and results from that game were not yet available but will be announced in the next edition.
