Students in Mrs. Hataway’s fourth grade class at Lafargue Elementary School in Marksville recently adopted a dairy calf named Ruby through an agricultural education program.
Since October, the students have followed Ruby’s progress through virtual farm tours, learning firsthand about the dairy side of agriculture and how farms operate.
The program is offered at no cost and is available for teachers to use as a hands-on learning tool in the classroom.
