TRAFFIC ALERT: MONROE FABRE BRIDGE CLOSURE (BIG BEND ROAD)

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced the upcoming closure of the Monroe Fabre Bridge over Bayou Des Glaises in Avoyelles Parish. The bridge is being completely removed and replaced.

PROJECT DETAILS:• Start Date: Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 7:00 AM.

• Location: Big Bend Road, approximately 3.7 miles east of Pete Laborde Road.

• Traffic Impact: The bridge will be CLOSED to all traffic. There is no official detour route provided, so motorists will need to plan alternate routes accordingly.

• Estimated Completion: September 2026 (weather permitting).

Sheriff David L. Dauzat stated, "We ask that everyone please plan your travel ahead of time, drive with caution near the construction zone, and be mindful of the work crews and equipment."
