Church for Deliverance to hold Plate Lunch Sale
Church for Deliverance, located at 431 Elmo St. in Marksville, will hold a plate lunch sale Saturday, Feb. 7, beginning at 10 a.m. Dinners will include BBQ pork or chicken, rice dressing, potato salad and green beans for a $13 donation per plate.
In addition to plate lunches, a cake table will be available with a variety of homemade desserts, including coconut cake, sweet bread and old-fashioned bread pudding. Canned drinks will also be sold.

Plaucheville Dixie League registration
Registration for the upcoming Plaucheville Dixie League baseball season will continue on Sunday, Feb. 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Plaucheville Town Hall.
The league is open to boys and girls ages 3 to 14. The registration fee is $65, and new players must bring a copy of their birth certificate at the time of registration.

Feb. 16-17
Free ASIST Suicide Intervention Training offered in Moreauville
A free, two-day ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) workshop will be held Feb. 16–17 in Avoyelles Parish, providing participants with practical, life-saving skills to help prevent suicide.
The training will be hosted by the Moreauville Fire Station, 897 Bayou Des Glaises St, and is funded by the Central Louisiana Human Services District and SaveCenla’s sponsors, making it free to all participants. Sessions will run from 7:45 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. both days, and attendees must attend both full days.
ASIST is open to anyone age 16 and older, regardless of profession or employment status. The training is designed to benefit parents, educators, first responders, healthcare workers, students, unemployed individuals, and community members from all walks of life. No prior experience is required.
Registration is required and space is available now. Interested participants can sign up at SaveCenla.com. Organizers encourage early registration, noting the training is being offered for a limited time and depends on available funding.
