🏈👨‍✈️ Zion Lee Joins the U.S. Naval Academy Football Team!

Bunkie Magnet High School running back Zion Lee has officially signed to play football for the United States Naval Academy

Lee, a member of the Class of 2026, celebrated the milestone surrounded by teammates, family, and staff at Bunkie Magnet High School.

The signing took place Wednesday morning, Dec. 3, as part of the school’s recognition of senior athletes. Lee has been a key contributor to the Panthers offense throughout his high school career.

Head Coach Jimmie Hillman highlighted both Lee’s athletic and academic accomplishments as part of the signing celebration. Hillman stated:

“In order to play for the US Naval Academy, not only do you have to possess the talent of a Division 1 athlete, but you have to have the grades as well. Zion has maintained a 3.91 GPA during his time here at Bunkie Magnet High School.”

Hillman spoke not only about Lee’s ability on the field but also about his character:

“Zi is not just a great player, but a phenomenal young man. I have no doubt he will succeed in the Navy.”

Hillman also explained the recruiting process that guided Lee to make his final decision. He said:

“Zion has been recruited by several programs, but ultimately his decision to sign with the Navy, I believe, was based on the relationship he formed with Coach DC Cole, Navy RB Coach, during the recruitment process. Coach Cole has been to Bunkie four times in the last few years and did a great job of recruiting our program.”

Lee now moves forward to continue both his education and football career at the U.S. Naval Academy.
