The countdown to the Avoyelles Arts Council’s 15th annual 2026 Avoyelles Arts & Music Festival is officially underway, and community members of all ages are invited to become part of this year’s celebration. We are bringing back all the things that we have all come to know and love like the 5K, car show, and bake-off, just to name a few.
As America’s 250th anniversary approaches, this year’s festival is set to be a big one. Recently, organizers unveiled the epic music line-up that includes Threat Level Midnight, Dustin Gaspard, Jourdan Thibodeaux, TK Soul, Keith Frank, and Paul Wall. They are seeking volunteers, vendors, artists, businesses, students, and families to help make the festival one of the most memorable celebrations yet.
Local and regional artists are especially encouraged to participate by submitting artwork to be displayed in the festival gallery exhibit located inside the Mari Center ballroom of Paragon Casino. Selected works will be professionally displayed during the festival and available for purchase by attendees, offering artists an opportunity to showcase their talent, connect with new audiences, and generate sales while contributing to the cultural experience of the festival.
Painters, photographers, sculptors, mixed media artists, fiber artists, woodworkers, and creators of all styles are invited to participate.
Volunteer opportunities are now open for individuals, civic groups, students, churches, and organizations looking to give back to the community. Volunteers are needed in all areas including event setup, hospitality, artist assistance, children’s activities, vendor support, cleanup, and guest services. Volunteers remain one of the driving forces behind the event’s success each year.
Youth are also encouraged to participate in the ongoing Fourth of July Youth Art Contest, which gives students an opportunity to showcase their artistic talent while helping shape the visual identity of the festival. Artwork will be featured during the festival and there is a chance at a $50 prize. Entry deadline is July 1. Free canvases are available at Gallery on the Square at 122 E Mark ST, Marksville, LA 71351; open Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm. More information on age divisions, deadlines, and submission guidelines can be found on the Avoyelles Arts Council website.
In addition, the festival is launching a Home & Business Decorating Contest designed to encourage community-wide participation and hometown spirit leading up to the celebration.
Residents and local businesses will have the opportunity to decorate storefronts, offices, homes, porches, and public spaces in patriotic themes to commemorate America’s 250th birthday. Organizers hope the contest will create excitement throughout the parish and encourage families and visitors to explore local communities during festival season. The deadline to register is June 19, 2026.
Community members interested in volunteering, sponsoring, decorating, displaying artwork, performing, competing, or becoming a vendor are encouraged to follow the festival’s social media pages for announcements and registration information in the coming weeks.
