Avoyelles Arts & Music Festival crowns its new queens

Maddie McMahan of Slidell, an LSU student, was crowned Miss Avoyelles Arts & Music Festival, while Jeanne Elyse Knoll of Marksville, a Holy Savior Menard student, was crowned Miss Avoyelles Arts & Music Festival Teen.

The pageant was held Oct. 11 at Paragon Casino Resort in Marksville.

Both will represent Avoyelles Parish, the Avoyelles Arts Council and the festival throughout the year. McMahan will compete in Miss Louisiana, while Knoll will compete in Miss Louisiana Teen.

Organizers congratulated the new queens and thanked the contestants, families, sponsors and supporters who helped make the event a success.
