Avoyelles High School hosts District 8 FFA Ag Mechanics Contest

Avoyelles High School in Moreauville hosted the 2026 District 8 FFA Ag Mechanics Contest on Feb. 26 welcoming more than 34 competitors to campus for a full day of competition in Small Engines Electricity and Welding.

Participating schools from Avoyelles Parish included LaSAS Avoyelles High Marksville High and Bunkie High.

Welding Contest Results

• 1st Place: LaSAS Blue
• 2nd Place: Marksville Blue
• 3rd Place: Marksville Gold
• 4th Place: Bunkie Blue

High Individual Honor: Zachariah Desoto of Marksville

Small Engines Contest Results

• 1st Place: LaSAS Blue
• 2nd Place: Bunkie Blue
• 3rd Place: LaSAS Middle Blue

High Individual Assembly Honors: Kain Bordelon of LaSAS

High Individual in Troubleshooting: Austin Rabalais of LaSAS

Electricity Contest Results

• 1st Place: Camryn Briggs of Marksville
• 2nd Place: Ethan LeBlanc of LaSAS Blue
• 3rd Place: Baylon Armand of LaSAS Gold
• 4th Place: Hayden Blankenship of LaSAS Middle Blue

All teams that competed will advance to the Area III FFA Welding Electricity and Small Engines contests scheduled to take place in the coming weeks.
