Avoyelles piles up the points against Bolton Academy Bears
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Avoyelles). They claimed a resounding 69-0 win over the Bolton Academy Bears.
The Mustangs haven’t had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game marked their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Balanced Attack Leads to Dominant Victory
Avoyelles’ win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances.
Perhaps the best among them was Xavier Scott, who rushed for 70 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Another standout was Kenterrius Franks, who rushed for 40 yards and a pair of scores.
Defense Shines
Avoyelles proved that wins are hard to come by when you can’t run the rock, limiting Bolton Academy to a paltry 2.3 yards per carry.
The team can thank Kevin Jones for the heroic effort on defense.
The Avoyelles run defense continues to improve:
- Earlier in the season: 3.74 yards allowed per carry
- Last five games: only 0.89 allowed per carry on average
Avoyelles didn’t go easy on the quarterback either — they picked off two passes before the game ended.
• Interceptions by:
– Brayden Murray
– Franks, who also turned his pick into a touchdown
