Craig W. Foster Sworn In as New District 6 Juror!

At a special meeting of the Avoyelles Parish Police Jury on Thursday, February 19, 2026, Craig W. Foster was officially sworn in to fill the District 6 seat following the resignation of McKinley “Pop” Keller. Foster will serve Keller’s unexpired term until a special election is held.

Foster brings extensive local experience to the position. He is a retired Assistant Superintendent of Schools for Avoyelles Parish and previously served on the Bunkie City Council.

After taking the oath of office, Foster expressed appreciation for the appointment and for his predecessor’s service.

“I am grateful to the Avoyelles Parish Police Jury for the appointment and look forward to serving the residents of District 6. I would like to express my gratitude to McKinley ‘Pop’ Keller for his decades of leadership and vision on the jury. I am honored and humbled to follow in his footsteps,” Foster said.
