Free ASIST Suicide Intervention workshop set for Moreauville
A free two-day Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, or ASIST, workshop will be held Oct. 21-22 at the Moreauville Fire Department, 328 Main St.
The training will run from 7:45 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. both days and is open to anyone age 16 and older, regardless of profession. Participants will learn and practice a suicide intervention model designed to help recognize and respond to someone who may be at risk.
There is no cost to attend, but participants must attend both full days. Registration is available at SaveCenla.com by selecting the green ASIST symbol.
Mental health professionals may also receive 12 continuing education units through LivingWorks for $78 following the training.
