LA 452 Closure Planned at Caldwell Street for Drainage Project
MARKSVILLE — Motorists traveling through Marksville should prepare for a road closure beginning Monday, June 8, as work continues on a drainage improvement project along LA 452.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced that LA 452, also known as Preston Street, will be closed at its intersection with Caldwell Street near Bernard’s Crawfish Pad beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2026.
The closure is needed for the installation of drainage structures as part of an ongoing $856,628 project to improve drainage along this section of LA 452. DOTD said the closure is expected to remain in place for approximately four to five weeks.
The full project is expected to be completed in July 2026, depending on weather conditions and other factors that may affect construction timelines.
In addition to drainage structures, other work included in the project consists of clearing and grubbing, milling asphalt concrete, pavement patching, asphalt concrete and related work.
According to DOTD, eastbound traffic will travel west on LA 452 to LA 1, then north on LA 1 to LA 1192. Drivers will then proceed east on LA 1192 to LA 107, south on LA 107 to LA 1190 and east on LA 1190 back to LA 452.
