Marksville Church of the Nazarene celebrates 100 years
Marksville Church of the Nazarene celebrated its 100th anniversary with a homecoming event on Sunday, Oct. 4, marking a century of faith, worship and community.
The special service reflected on God's faithfulness over the past 100 years through songs, testimonies and moments of remembrance.
Members connected to the church's earliest days were honored by family members, including Bertha Franks, Sam and Estelle Desselle, Virginia Moncla, Winnie Deshautelle, Viola Bordelon and others. Charter members from 1926 and former pastors were also recognized.
Following the service, a meal was served in the Rev. Gary L. Jones Family Life Center behind the church. Guests also visited a memories table featuring the church's history from 1926, photographs and a slideshow tracing the congregation's evolution from its beginnings to the present.
Children enjoyed coloring activities and games in the Kids Corner.
Church members said the day was a joyful time of fellowship and reflection as the congregation celebrated its heritage while looking ahead to the future.
Marksville Church of the Nazarene now looks forward to what God has in store for the next 100 years.
