Marksville High School Celebrates 2026 Homecoming with Week of Tiger Pride

Marksville High School celebrated its 2026 Homecoming with a week of activities from Oct. 27–31, highlighting Tiger pride, school spirit and community tradition. Students participated in themed dress-up days, a Homecoming parade, a pep rally and other festivities surrounding Friday night's football game against the Buckeye Panthers.

The celebration began Tuesday with “Rhyme Without Reason,” encouraging students to dress in pairs as unrelated things that rhyme. Wednesday's “Guess Who Day” invited students to dress as their favorite celebrities, characters or athletes, while Thursday's “Spirit Day” featured purple and gold attire to show Tiger pride. Friday's “Spooky/Halloween Day” wrapped up the themed dress-up activities, with students wearing Halloween-inspired outfits for the occasion.

One of the highlights of the week was the recognition of the 2026 Homecoming Court and the crowning of this year's winners. Destiny Lachney was crowned Marksville High School's 2026 Homecoming Queen, while Victoria Love was named Homecoming Princess and Carlie Ducote received the Miss Congeniality honor.

The 2026 Homecoming Court also included Senior Maids Ja'Kira Lyons, Anneshia Reed, Carlie Ducote, Destiny Lachney and Jasmine Brown, along with Junior Maids Lindzy Dorsey, Jayla Sampson and Victoria Love.

The Homecoming parade took place Thursday, Oct. 29, with participants gathering for the 5:30 p.m. procession. Students, families and supporters came together to celebrate the Tigers.

The Tigers faced the Buckeye Panthers Friday, Oct. 30, at Warren Douglas Stadium, adding another chapter to the school's Homecoming tradition. Marksville defeated Buckeye 40-34.

Homecoming festivities continued Saturday, Oct. 31, with the middle school dance from 6–8 p.m. and the high school dance from 8:30–10:30 p.m.

The week brought students, faculty, families and supporters together for another memorable Marksville High School Homecoming.
