Obituary for Ralph S. Bordelon

Funeral services for Mr. Ralph S. Bordelon will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home Church with Father Dan O’Connor officiating. Interment will be held at St. Joseph #2 Mausoleum. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville, Louisiana.

Mr. Bordelon, 79, of Fifth Ward, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his parents, Belton A. and Irby Rousseau Bordelon; son, Shaun Bordelon; brother, Anthony Bordelon; sister, Mary Loiuise Bordelon.

Mr. Bordelon proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. Upon completion of his Air Force enlistment, he enlisted in the Louisiana Army National Guard and retired with 23 years of service as a mechanic.

He held office in the Knights of Columbus and served as Commander of the American Legion. He was also a longtime umpire and coach in Fifth Ward where he dedicated many years to coaching young athletes with the Little League Baseball.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, of 57 years, Lola Dauzat Bordelon of Fifth Ward, Louisiana; daughters, Stacy Bordelon of Fifth Ward, Louisiana and Nicole Priester (Eugene) of Mansura, Louisiana; brother, Lonnie Bordelon (Carolyn) of Marksville, Louisiana; sister, Paula Bordelon (Glenn Paul) of Fifth Ward, Louisiana; and two grandchildren, Jordan Priester and Aiden Priester.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral and will resume at 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. by Deacon Darrell Dubroc.
