Obituary of Diane “Sis” Lemoine Dauzat

Diane “Sis” Lemoine Dauzat, age 87, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026. She was born on January 15, 1939, in Moreauville, Louisiana, to Olivier and Ellen Lemoine. She was one of four children whose life was shaped by faith and a love for family and community.

She shared 52 cherished years with her beloved husband, Ardie Vincent Dauzat. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith and family. As partners in both life and business, they owned and operated Dauzat’s Shopping Center, proudly serving the Moncla community while raising their family.

Her greatest joy was always her family. She was especially proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Melanie Amond (Steve), Vincent Dauzat (Rhonda), Amy Dauzat, and Allison Vicknair (Carl); her grandchildren, Kristen Amond, Alyse Williams, Matthew Amond, Casey Dauzat Graham, Blake Dauzat, Grace Marionneaux, Max Vicknair, and Maggie Vicknair; her great-grandchildren, Van Graham, Julien Amond-Sterling, and Marshall Amond; and her siblings, Mable Lachney and Oliver Lemoine.

A talented artist, Sis enjoyed painting and had a lifelong love of flowers and gardening. She took great pride in her beautiful yard, where she could often be found tending to her flowers and sharing their beauty with family, friends and neighbors. A faithful member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, she lived her faith through kindness, generosity and service to others.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ardie Vincent Dauzat; her parents, Olivier and Ellen Lemoine; her parents-in-law, Orney and Villia Dauzat; her brother, Stanley Lemoine; and her brothers-in-law, James Lachney, Ronnie Hair, Ruben Dauzat, and Steven Dauzat.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 123 Old Moncla Road, Marksville, Louisiana with visitation in the adjacent church hall from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest following the Mass in the church cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers are Matthew Amond, Blake Dauzat, Max Vicknair, Scott Smith and Randall Brouillette.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, love, and support shown during this time. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Moncla, or the American Cancer Society.
