Obituary for Harold Joseph Guillot, Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Harold Joseph Guillot, Sr. will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marksville, with Rev. Wade De Coste officiating. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum, Fifth Ward, under the direction of Kramer of Fifth Ward.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday, September 4, 2026, and resume from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Kramer of Fifth Ward.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:30 PM on Friday, September 4, 2026, in the chapel.

Harold Joseph Guillot, Sr., 86, of Fifth Ward, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Lexington House.

Harold is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Shirley Guillot; his son, Tony Guillot; two brothers, Landry Guillot and Idal Guillot; and daughter-in-law, Belinda Guillot.

Those left to cherish his memory includes his son, Harold Guillot, Jr.; his grandchildren, Glen Guillot, Andrew Guillot, Sidney Guillot, Haley DuFour, and Holly Harvey; his great-grandchildren, Mason Guillot, Lillian Guillot, Sidney Guillot, Jr., Abigal Dubroc, Caroline DuFour, Zeaden Harvey; Kaylum Harvey, Holland J. Harvey; and brother-in-lawn, Charles Scallan.

Harold “Pickle” Joseph Guillot, Sr., was born on November 20, 1939, in Fifth Ward, Louisiana. He was a graduate of Fifth Ward High School, where he was recognized for his bravery after climbing onto the school roof to help extinguish a fire caused by a lightning strike.

Harold proudly served his country in the United States Army for eight years. Following his military service, he worked as a plumber for many years, taking great pride in his work and providing for his family.

Harold was a devoted father and family man who spent many years caring for Shirley. He was known for his quick wit and love of joking with those around him, always bringing laughter and a smile to the people he knew. He also had a passion for gardening and was especially generous with the fruits of his labor, often sharing his homegrown produce with family, friends, neighbors, and anyone who could use it.

Harold was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Fifth Ward. His faith, generosity, sense of humor, and devotion to his family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew and loved him.

Pallbearers honored to serve include Robert Harvey, Michael DuFour, Sidney Guillot, Sidney Guillot, Jr., Tommy Morrison, and Durvis Carmouche.
