🔥 Temporary Burn Ban Declared in Avoyelles Parish! 🚫

EMERGENCY DECLARATION

A RESOLUTION DECLARING A TEMPORARY BURN BAN IN AVOYELLES PARISH DUE TO EXTREME FIRE DANGER

WHEREAS, the Parish of Avoyelles is committed to protecting the health, safety, and welfare of its residents; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, along with local fire authorities, have reported extremely dry conditions and elevated fire risks throughout Avoyelles Parish; and
WHEREAS, open burning of debris, vegetation, or any combustible material significantly increases the risk of uncontrolled fires, threatening property, wildlife, and human life; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to take proactive measures to prevent wildfires and other fire-related emergencies within the parish.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the governing authority of Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana, as follows:

Declaration of Burn Ban: Effective immediately, all open burning within the boundaries of Avoyelles Parish is strictly prohibited. This burn ban shall remain in effect until further notice.

Violations of this burn ban may result in fines and/or penalties as provided under the laws and ordinances of Avoyelles Parish and the State of Louisiana. Local law enforcement and fire authorities are authorized to enforce this resolution.

The Secretary-Treasurer shall ensure public notification of this burn ban through local media outlets, official parish social media channels, and other means necessary to inform the residents of Avoyelles Parish.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution shall be filed with the Parish Clerk, local fire departments, and other relevant agencies to ensure compliance and public awareness.
