Avoyelles 4-H Fall Fundraiser offers Pecans, Sweet Potatoes

Avoyelles Parish 4-H is once again holding its annual fall fundraiser, giving residents an opportunity to support local youth while purchasing Louisiana-grown pecans and Avoyelles Parish sweet potatoes.

The fundraiser features 20-pound boxes of locally grown sweet potatoes for $20. Customers may choose between Avoyelles and Beauregard varieties.

Louisiana-grown pecans are also available in 16-ounce bags in several varieties. Options include shelled pecan halves for $12.25, praline crunch topping for $11.50, sugared pecans for $13.50, roasted pecans for $13.50, Cajun roasted pecans for $13.50 and milk chocolate pecans for $15.

The fundraiser offers a variety of choices for holiday baking, gift giving or stocking the pantry ahead of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Orders may be placed through a local 4-H member, at the Avoyelles Parish 4-H Office or online at avoyelles-parish-4-h-foundation.square.site.

The deadline to order is Nov. 11, with pickup scheduled for Nov. 24 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Avoyelles Parish 4-H Office. Payment arrangements are handled through the order process, and checks should be made payable to the Avoyelles 4-H Foundation.

Completed order forms and checks may be returned to the Avoyelles 4-H Foundation, 8592 Highway 1, Mansura.

Money raised through the fundraiser will benefit Avoyelles Parish 4-H programs and opportunities for local youth, helping support activities, education and leadership development throughout the year.
