Presented by the Cenla Area Agency on Aging, the sessions will provide Medicare beneficiaries, caregivers and family members an opportunity to ask questions and learn about available coverage options. The annual Open Enrollment period runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7.
Topics will include Medicare Parts A, B, C and D, prescription drug coverage, Traditional Medicare, Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans. Information about additional programs for which participants may qualify will also be available.
The first session will be held Monday, Oct. 26, from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. at Bunkie HomeCare, 1123 Shirley Road in Bunkie.
A second session is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bunkie General Pharmacy, 302 Floyd Street in Bunkie.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their Medicare card, driver’s license and a current list of medications and dosages to help make the sessions as informative as possible. Light refreshments and door prizes will be provided, along with health screenings offered by Bunkie HomeCare and Bunkie General Hospital.
Both sessions are free and open to anyone seeking information about Medicare coverage or considering changes to their current plans.
Organizers encourage residents to take advantage of the local sessions before the Dec. 7 Open Enrollment deadline.
